Product Specialist
General duties and responsibilities of the Product Specialist include supporting the Commercial Marketing Team with a range of activities designed to support and growth sales for the product portfolio. These activities include the following:
• Conducting various product development and marketing initiatives per the direction of the Marketing Director and Product Managers
• Including the opportunity to work on both mechanical and control products in the Commercial HVAC product portfolio
• Will help define products, market and internal requirements for new product development and enhancement projects
• Actively plans, manages and executes a variety of projects including customer research, promotional literature, business planning, competitive benchmarking and administrative duties
• A BA/BS degree in an engineering related discipline is required with a mechanical or electrical specialization preferred. At least two years of experience with a background in HVAC equipment or controls preferred.
• Additional requirements include:
• Ability to develop product specification requirements, product marketing and promotional plans and support all product development / enhancement activities
• Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines and with minimal supervision
• Great communication and problem resolution capability including the ability to negotiate with internal and external stake holders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on business and technical vocabulary, grammar and concepts
• Must understand and work with new concepts quickly in a range of areas (technical, communication, marketing, training)
• Understand, work within and help improve defined processes including Marketing, Engineering and New Product Development
• Strong attention to detail and excellent quality of workmanship in all activities and work output
• Ability to analyze and summarize complex data and provide recommendation based on information
• Comfortable interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization including those in leadership and executive positions
• Demonstrated computer skills and advanced proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access and experience with SAP a plus
